Rural Housing Model

The project aims to develop an adaptable system for productive rural housing in Ecuador, taking into account the environmental and cultural specificities of the temperate and rainy continental regions of Ecuador. Rather than a generic prototype, an interdisciplinary solution is sought that contemplates aspects of implementation, function and construction, adapting to local needs and promoting sustainability.

To ensure relevance, the National Urban Policy (PUN) 2023-2036 and key sources such as MIDUVI, MIES, PDOT, PUGS and the book 33+1 Keys to a new model of sustainable collective housing in Ecuador are taken as a reference. The research addresses the problem from five fundamental components: socio-cultural, physical-spatial, architectural, constructive and sustainable, ensuring a comprehensive and contextualized approach.
